The second annual REVIVE! Divine Food + Divine Beer, a SAVOR-like event to highlight Maryland beer and food pairings, was held on August 24, at the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City.
The Shrine provided a bucolic backdrop for the special tastings from 16 breweries and restaurants. Each Maryland beer was paired with a small plate from a Maryland restaurant, often from the same town. Attendees were each given three coins with which they could vote for their choice of best beer-food pairing. This is an enjoyable evening with brewers and restaurants showcasing some of their best creations.
Maryland Craft Beer Competition
At the evening’s conclusion, the 2019 Maryland Craft Beer Competition winners were announced. Taking the 2019 competition’s top honor was Pounder Pils from Heavy Seas Beer in Halethorpe.
